Assistant Director; Head, Teaching Innovation
I plan, implement and assess faculty development programs for the improvement of teaching and learning, provide programs and resources designed to increase understanding of the teaching and learning process and manage personnel and projects in the Teaching Innovation group in Learning Innovation.
My interests are in student-centered course and program design (for both online and in-person courses and programs), curriculum mapping, effective assessment, and engaging teaching strategies for student learning.
I have worked in Learning Innovation and its prior incarnation (the Center for Instructional Technology) for 18 years. Prior to that I was the Assistant Director for Instructional Technology in the Office for Teaching and Learning at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. I have an MS in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Michigan, a BS in Biology from the University of Virginia, and a Certificate in Online Teaching and Course Design from the University of Wisconsin - Extension.
