Head, Research and Instructional Services
I am the Head of Research and Instructional Services, a dynamic team of librarians who serve as liaisons to departments across Duke. We support the diverse research and teaching needs of Duke's faculty, students, and staff through providing classroom instruction and other workshops, supporting individuals and teams through research consultations, and ensuring that we have a collection of books, journals, databases, and other search tools that enable researchers to thrive in their work.
Before joining the Duke University Libraries in May 2015, I worked at the North Carolina State University Libraries for fourteen years. I received my BA in Philosophy and Religion from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and my MS in Library Science from UNC Chapel Hill's School of Information and Library Science.
I am particularly interested in how libraries can create learning and research ecosystems that enable people to accomplish their goals, especially as they relate to teaching, researching, and sharing their work in new ways.
